What works today
Try the countdown first, with no account at all: open the phone guide on a phone and load the sample. It runs against Big Buck Bunny, which is free to watch, and it is the same countdown a paid plan runs against your own films.
A free account (no card) gives you parent report cards and ratings. The analyzer builds a scene guide for a film you own, and the phone guide then counts down beside any TV; both are on paid plans whose first month is free, without a card. The shared library has its first film in it — Home Alone (1990) — so this is the beginning of it and not the middle; check whether yours is there. Its report card is here, which is a different thing from a scene guide: report cards come from parents answering five questions, guides are timestamped moments.
Rating a film builds its report card; scene guides come from moments families flag during a filtered watch, reviewed by us. On a TV you use the TV's own remote; the phone's own controls work when it is paired with our web player or extension (Full plan). The popup shown is a re-creation of the extension's layout, not a recording. An independent product, not affiliated with any streaming service. Patent pending.
Never edits your file. No altered copy of any film is ever written. The only thing ParentFilter produces is a guide: timestamps and what to do at each one.
Never touches the stream. Nothing is decrypted, recorded or saved. In a browser the extension controls the official player the way your remote does; beside a TV the phone only watches the clock.
Never tracks what you watch. No viewing history, no ad trackers. A tap to filter, or a flag you choose to send, is a request under your account — how we handle it.
Nothing filters until you say so. A film starts unfiltered. One tap, film by film, and a notice opens every filtered playback saying the performance is altered.
